How can I set up alerts for price changes on Best Buy?

I'm trying to grab a new laptop for my son's graduation in June and I've been watching this one model on Best Buy for weeks. The price keeps jumping around like crazy though. One day it is $899 and the next it's back up to $1100 and I keep missing the sales by like a few hours.

I am not really tech-savvy at all so I dont know if there is a way to get a text or email when the price drops again. Do I need to download something special or is there just a setting I missed on their website? Sorry if this is a dumb question I just have no idea where to even start with this...

I've been super happy using these for my own rigs:

  • PriceDropCatch: simple SMS pings, works well.
  • Distill Web Monitor: tracks specific DOM changes for raw data... pretty solid tbh.

I dealt with this trying to snag a tablet last year and it was super frustrating. You might want to consider these tools to keep track of the cost:

  • Honey: It shows price history graphs right on the page so you see if 899 is actually a deal.
  • Google Shopping: Search the model and toggle track price for email alerts. I would suggest being careful with notification delays tho since laptops sell out fast.

Agreeing with the SMS thing. I once missed a cheap rig by minutes cuz I wasnt watching... just get any laptop from Asus. PriceDropCatch is great for those 24-hour sales.
