Has anyone seen any leaked Nikon Z6 III bundles for Prime Day next week, or is it too new for Amazon to actually discount?
I've been refreshing pages all day and saw on Nikon Rumors that we might only get body-only discounts, but then some reddit post said Amazon always does a lens bundle. I'm super anxious because I have to shoot my sister's wedding in Seattle in late July and my D750 is dying. My budget is capped at $2500 for the body and a starter lens so I really need a bundle deal to make this work in time...
I went through this upgrade transition recently. Amazon almost always runs bundle deals on Prime Day even for newer bodies. Here is what you should watch for:
^ This. Also, if you are dead set on the Z6 III, hitting that 2500 limit is gonna be tough since the body alone starts at 2500. Even with a decent Prime Day cut, you might only save 200 bucks on the body. Instead of the standard zoom bundle, you could grab the body and pair it with a fast budget prime. The Nikon NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 is incredibly cheap, usually around 300, and gives you that f/2 aperture which you will absolutely need for low light moments at a Seattle wedding. Another route is the Nikon NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.8 S. It is a bit more expensive but the rendering is gorgeous and it punches way above its weight class. If you want to play it safe budget-wise, honestly look at the Nikon Z6 II with NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S bundle. It is constantly on sale now and easily fits under your cap. The autofocus on the Z6 II is still solid for weddings if you configure the wide-area tracking right, plus you will have leftover cash for extra batteries and fast CFexpress cards. The D750 was a workhorse, but either of these mirrorless options will feel like jumping into the future.
Saw this thread and wanted to chime in since I went through a similar budget crunch last year. Honestly, expecting a major Prime Day discount on a brand-new release is a huge gamble that might leave you empty-handed right before your sister's wedding. If your budget is strictly capped at 2500, my advice is to look into the certified refurbished store directly from Nikon. I bought my current setup that way and I have been incredibly satisfied with it. The gear arrived looking brand new and has worked flawlessly, zero complaints. Just stick with Nikon mirrorless in general, you really cant go wrong with their recent lineup. Going the refurbished or used route for the body and pairing it with a standard zoom will easily keep you under budget and save you the stress of waiting for a sale.
