I'm planning to finally upgrade to a mirrorless camera this Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I'm particularly interested in full-frame bodies like the Sony A7 series or Canon R6 series, but I'm open to APS-C options too if the deal is compelling enough.
Has anyone spotted any promising early deals yet? Which retailers typically offer the best prices on camera bodies and lenses during this period? Also, should I wait until Cyber Monday or do Black Friday deals tend to be better for photography gear?
Thanks in advance for any insights!

Honestly, after shooting mirrorless for a decade, the 'Black Friday vs Cyber Monday' debate is pretty much over—the prices are usually identical throughout the whole 'Cyber Week' period anyway. What actually matters is the long-term technical cost of the ecosystem you're jumping into!!! As someone who obsesses over specs and lens roadmaps, I’d say just go with a Sony full-frame setup. You honestly can't go wrong with their mount because the third-party lens support is massive compared to everyone else. Even if the body deal looks slightly better on another brand, you'll likely save way more over five years because you aren't forced to buy expensive first-party glass for every single focal length. Canon is amazing for autofocus tech, but their ecosystem is still pretty locked down, which is a major factor for long-term ownership tbh. Also, keep an eye on 'bundle' deals rather than just the body; sometimes the kit lens is basically free during these sales and you can flip it later to subsidize better glass. TL;DR: Don't stress the specific day (BF or CM), just get into the Sony ecosystem if you want the best technical flexibility and lowest long-term cost for lenses.
No way, I literally just dealt with this yesterday. Small world.
