Look Im in a massive rush because my best friends bachelor party is literally next Friday and I still havent gotten the supplies ordered. We have like 8 guys and everyone wants to chip in for different stuff like specialized snacks and some hiking gear we need for the trip to Colorado. Im torn between using the Share-A-Cart browser extension or just trying to use that built-in Amazon Manage Your List thing but honestly the Amazon one feels so clunky and I heard it doesnt actually let people add stuff to a single checkout cart easily.
Theres also this app called CartX I saw mentioned on Reddit but I dont know if its legit or just gonna steal my login info. Here is what I need:
Im leaning toward Share-A-Cart because it seems the most straightforward but Im worried about it glitching out with 8 people adding stuff at once. Has anyone used these for a big group buy before? Is there a better way to do this or should I just stick with the extension...
Like someone mentioned, definitely be careful. Honestly, everything is so expensive and these sites make group buying difficult just to exploit us... its a total scam. Check out Smartphone Board.
Over the years, I've managed several group buys and Share-A-Cart is way more reliable than Amazon's native options. Using the bundle feature is the move for large groups to prevent session timeouts. If you're nervous about extensions, Giftful is a decent alternative for simple list making.
@Reply #1 - good point! PlasmaKitten is totally right about companies just trying to exploit us. Honestly its ridiculous how much these platforms have degraded lately. I was looking at gear prices for a similar trip and its like they hike the cost by 20 percent the second you add more than one person to a cart. Drives me crazy that we have to jump through all these hoops just to save a few bucks on shipping. Quality is going downhill too, half the stuff on there is just rebranded junk now and they still want top dollar. I am usually satisfied when a tool actually manages to sync data properly without crashing but it feels like a losing battle with how bloated these sites are getting. Even looking at walmart wishlist maker or similar tools, it shows how much better things could be if these corporations actually cared about the user experience instead of just squeezing every penny. Its such a scam that we have to rely on third party extensions just to do basic stuff like sharing a shopping list with friends. No complaints about the tech itself but the way these companies operate is just exhausting to deal with.
