So Ive been saving up for months because Im finally going on my dream trip to Japan this June and I really want to stop relying on my iPhone for everything... the photos are fine but they just look so digital if that makes sense. I have about $1000 to spend and that has to include a lens too because I dont have any gear yet. Ive spent like ten hours on youtube and now Im just more confused than when I started lol.
Right now Im stuck between the Fujifilm X-T30 II and the Sony ZV-E10. I love the way the Fuji looks like an old school camera and everyone says the colors are amazing right out of the box which sounds great since I have zero clue how to edit photos yet. But then the Sony seems like a powerhouse for video and everyone says the autofocus is basically magic? I also looked at the Canon R50 because its cheaper but Im worried about the lens selection later on.
I mostly want to do street photography and take nice shots of the temples and maybe some food vlogs while Im traveling. Is the Fuji worth the extra money for a beginner or should I just get the Sony and spend the rest on a better lens? Or is there something else Im totally missing in this price range?
If youre mostly doing street stuff in Japan, the Fuji is the better pick. Those film sims mean you wont have to learn editing, and the Sony lacks a viewfinder which sucks in bright sun.
