Whats the absolute best wide-angle glass for an X-T4 right now that wont give me those mushy corners I keep seeing? Ive been shooting with the Fuji system for ages, mostly weddings and street, but Im pivoting to more serious landscape work for a trip to the Dolomites next month. I've been using the first-gen 10-24mm f4 for a while now but Im honestly fed up with the lack of sharpness on the edges when Im trying to capture those big mountain ranges... its like the lens just gives up on life past the center of the frame.
I need something that plays nice with the X-T4 sensor and maybe makes use of the IBIS? Im torn between going with a prime like the 14mm f2.8 which Ive heard is a hidden gem or just sucking it up and getting the 8-16mm f2.8 even though its a massive brick and way out of my $900 budget unless I find a crazy deal. Is the Samyang 12mm worth looking at for manual focus or is it too fiddly? I'm looking for something that is tack sharp and can handle some weather since Ill be hiking quite a bit. Any of you guys noticed a big jump in quality with the newer WR version of the 10-24 or should I just ditch zooms altogether for the wide end...
I would suggest looking for a used Fujifilm Fujinon XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR. Be careful with the 14mm since it lacks weather sealing, which might be risky for your Dolomites trip.
To add to the point above: Ive been very satisfied with the Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8 Di III-A RXD for the X-T4. It definitely solves the corner softness issues youve been seeing with the older Fuji zoom glass.
