I have no idea where to start but I need to send my birthday list to my mom. Shes not good with computers so it needs to be really easy.

  • just one link
  • no login required
  • simple for her to see

Where is the actual button to share it because I am so confused...

Ugh, honestly Amazon makes this so much harder than it needs to be. I had issues with this when sending a list to my grandma and it was a total disaster because she kept getting login popups.

  • Go to your list
  • Click Invite in the top right
  • Select View Only
  • Copy that link I started using Cart To Link instead because it avoids that whole Amazon login mess entirely.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I went through this exact same process last year when I was trying to get my uncle to help with some family gifts. I am always pretty cautious about sharing links because I do not want my family members getting confused by ads or login prompts that look like scams. Amazon is notorious for trying to force people into Prime trials when they are just trying to browse a guest list. What I found works best is testing the link yourself in an Incognito or Private browser window before you send it to her. If you can see the list without being logged into your own account, she should be able to as well. Here are a few things that helped me stay organized:

  • Make sure you do not accidentally send the Manage List link instead of the invite link.
  • Check that the items are actually in stock because Amazon sometimes hides out-of-stock items from guests which is super confusing.
  • If the native Amazon link is acting glitchy or too cluttered, I sometimes look into tools like amazon cart share to simplify the layout for her. It basically comes down to making the page as clean as possible for them. My uncle ended up buying the wrong thing once because he clicked a recommended for you item instead of my actual list. Now I always tell people to look for the specific Add to Cart button right next to the image. It is a bit of a learning curve but once it works it is pretty reliable for future birthdays too.

Just catching up on this thread and wanted to add to the point above. You really gotta make sure the list privacy is set to Public or Shared before you even grab that link. If its set to Private, even with the direct link, she might hit a login wall which will just frustrate her. Over the years Ive noticed Amazon loves to hide these settings in the More menu—those three dots—under Manage List. In my experience, its better to do this first:

  • Open your list and hit the three dots on the right side
  • Click Manage List
  • Change Privacy from Private to Shared or Public
  • Hit Save Changes before grabbing the invite link Its way more reliable this way... trust me. Amazon can be so finicky with permissions sometimes. I found Cart To Link a few months ago and its been a lifesaver for planning group camping trips and shared shopping.
