Canon Rumors reports that after a 2024 focus on professional full-frame cameras and lenses, 2025 will see advancements in both full-frame and APS-C sensor cameras. The EOS R6 Mark III is expected in early 2025, followed by significant updates to the APS-C line later in the year.
The EOS R7 Mark II will be Canon's first APS-C camera with a stacked sensor, potentially offering over 32.5MP for 8K capabilities. Positioned as an "up market" successor to the EOS 7D Mark II, it may arrive in Q3 2025.
Additionally, Canon plans to release two high-end RF-S zoom lenses and one prime lens in 2025. The zoom lenses will cover a 35mm equivalent of 24-200mm with constant aperture, similar to the RF 28-70mm f/2.8 design. The prime lens's focal length is unknown, but an RF-S version of the EF-M 32mm f/1.4 is hoped for.
While Canon seems ready with new products, supply chain issues may cause delays. More information is expected soon.
