So my old prebuilt computer finally died and my brother told me I should try to build my own this time. He said I should look for a Ryzen 7000 series processor because they are good for gaming and will last a few years, but honestly I am completely lost looking at all these different model numbers and store websites.
I have about $250 to $300 max budgeted just for the CPU and I want to buy it by next week. I live in Ohio if that helps. Sorry if this is a super basic question but where are people actually finding the best deals on these right now?
Since you live in Ohio, you honestly hit the jackpot because of Micro Center. I got my Ryzen 7700X there last year and I am super satisfied with how it works, no complaints at all. Here is why you should go there:
> I have about $250 to $300 max budgeted just for the CPU Unfortunately, the market pricing isnt as good as expected. I think IIRC Amazon lists open-box units, although their inventory is unreliable and kinda frustrating to monitor.
To add to the point above: Micro Centers bundles are unbeatable. TL;DR: 7600X is the value king for $200, but the 7700X fits your $300 budget if you need more cores. Dont overthink it.
