One thing tho, if you do land that sub-$300 deal, dont make the mistake of using old cards or cheap bundle accessories. From a technical perspective, the Action 5 Pro pushes some serious bitrate, especially if you're maxing out the dynamic range. I always see people get these 'Black Friday Special' kits that are basically junk. If your storage cant handle sustained writes, the camera is gonna thermal throttle way faster because the buffer is constantly overflowing. Its not just about the price of the camera, its about making sure the rest of your kit doesnt bottleneck that sensor. Ive seen so many people complain about 'glitches' that were actually just slow write speeds. Just a heads up to avoid those generic off-brand batteries too, they usually dont have the discharge rate needed for the EIS to stay stable during high-intensity shots.

Consider a used Action 4; still a decent option depending on your needs. Does image stabilization matter a lot to you?
