Hey everyone! I recently picked up the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo and I’m absolutely loving the footage, but I’m struggling to find the perfect travel case. While the included protective cover is okay for the camera, it doesn’t really have room for the battery handle, the mini tripod, and my set of ND filters. I have a big hiking trip coming up and need something compact yet rugged enough to toss into a crowded backpack without worrying about the gimbal or screen. I’ve looked at some hard-shell options on Amazon, but I’m worried about the fit. Does anyone have a specific recommendation for a case that fits the full kit securely without being too bulky?
I would suggest the Smatree Hard Carrying Case for DJI Osmo Pocket 3 for your hike. It’s basically designed to keep everything from the combo totally secure without adding too much weight to your pack. Sooo, I was just catching up on this thread and I totally get the anxiety about packing gear for a hike. I’ve been doing this for a few years now, and the one thing I’ve learned is that 'compact' shouldn’t mean compromising on safety... the gimbal head is literally the most fragile part!! Seriously, I've seen so many screens get cracked because of bad cases. In my experience, you need a case that prioritizes internal stability over everything else. Here is why I recommend that specific Smatree model:
- High-density EVA foam: This is CRITICAL because it prevents the camera and accessories from knocking into each other. If they rub together in your bag, they'll scratch or worse.
- Hard outer shell: It's rigid enough that if you accidentally sit on your backpack or it gets squished by other gear, the pressure won't reach the lens.
- Secure mesh pocket: It keeps your DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Magnetic ND Filters Set snug so they dont rattle around. You might also want to look at the K&F Concept Small Camera Accessory Organizer if you want something more flexible, but honestly, I'm always too cautious for soft pouches. Be careful about where you place it in your bag—make sure it's not at the very bottom! I mean, I'm still learning the best way to rig mine up every trip, but a dedicated hard case is the safest bet. gl! 👍
Check out the PGYTECH Carrying Case for Osmo Pocket 3. Honestly, it's way better than random brands cuz the molding fits the battery handle perfectly. If you're hiking, maybe try the Pelican 1040 Micro Case with some foam. Pelican is BULLETPROOF but heavier, while PGYTECH is super compact and easy to pack. Pro tip: check B&H Photo for user reviews on the fit before buying. GL!
Good to know!
For your situation, i totally get the struggle... i actually bought a cheap hardshell case from some random brand first and it was honestly such a letdown. The foam was super stiff and basically didnt fit the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Battery Handle without forcing it, plus the ND filters just rattled around. Honestly, it was such a waste of cash... Anyway, i eventually picked up the Sunnylife Carrying Case for DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo and its way better for hiking. Its compact enough to toss in my pack but still feels rugged. I think it was around $25? - It fits the full kit perfectly
- The mesh pocket holds extra cables Have u seen the Startrc Carrying Case for DJI Osmo Pocket 3 ones? They seem okay too but maybe a bit bulkier. Good luck with the trip!! peace
> I’m worried about the fit. In my experience, spending $30 on a *quality* brand is actually cheaper long-term cuz you wont have to replace it when cheap foam fails. Plus it fits you're gear way better!
