Must-have accessories for DJI Action cameras while traveling?

I’m heading out on a 3-week trip and I’m bringing my DJI Action camera for a mix of city walking, day hikes, and some beach/snorkel time. I’ve used it at home, but traveling feels different—limited luggage space, more chances to drop things, and I don’t want to waste time fiddling with gear when I’m trying to catch a quick shot.

Right now I only have the camera, the basic mount, and one battery. I’m debating what accessories are actually “must-haves” vs. stuff that sounds useful but ends up sitting in the bag. For example: are extra batteries and a multi-battery charger basically mandatory for travel days? Is a small mini tripod/selfie stick combo worth it, or is a chest strap/head strap more useful for hikes? Also curious if people recommend a waterproof case vs. trusting the camera’s built-in waterproofing, especially for saltwater.

If you had to build a compact travel kit for a DJI Action camera, what accessories would you prioritize first (and which ones would you skip)?

Yo jumping in — budget move: grab 2 cheap-ish spares + a USB-C dual charger (doesn’t have to be DJI). Wasabi Power Battery (2-Pack) and Dual Charger for DJI Osmo Action 3/4/5 is usually like $30–$45 and I’ve been pretty satisfied. For saltwater, I’d trust built-in for quick dips but for snorkeling idk… I’d do DJI Waterproof Case for Osmo Action 3 (~$49) + anti-fog inserts. Also check DJI’s official microSD list + FakeFlashTest to avoid fake cards. gl!

For your situation, I’d do *2 extra batteries + a compact USB-C 3-slot charger* vs mounts: mini tripod/selfie stick is WAY more useful than chest/head strap for travel; for water, trust built-in for shallow stuff, but add floaty handle + anti-fog inserts.

Oh man, i learned this the hard way on a 2-week trip… safety-first kit: 2 extra batteries + a small USB-C 3-slot charger, and a SanDisk Extreme 256GB microSDXC UHS-I V30 U3 backup card. For saltwater, skip a case, but DO bring a floaty handle + rinse asap.

For your situation, I’d pack it like this (been there, i get it):

1) 2–3 extra batts + DJI Osmo Action Multifunctional Battery Case 2 — ngl basically mandatory on travel days.
2) SanDisk Extreme 256GB microSDXC UHS-I V30 U3 (or 2x128) — cards fail, backups save trips.
3) Mini tripod/selfie stick > chest strap imo (faster for city + hikes).
4) For saltwater: I still use a case, seals > vibes… no complaints
