I recently picked up the DJI Avata 2 Fly More Combo, and while the included shoulder bag is okay for short trips, I’m looking for something with better protection and organization. I’m specifically worried about the Goggles 3 getting crushed or the lenses getting scratched when I'm out hiking. I’d love a hard-shell case that fits the drone, the RC Motion 3, and at least three batteries securely. Has anyone tried the offerings from GPC or StartRC yet, or is there a specific backpack that fits everything perfectly without being too bulky? What are your top recommendations for a durable carrying case that balances portability with solid impact protection?

In my experience, picking a case is basically a trade-off between weight and armor. For your situation, here's what I recommend:

1. GPC DJI Avata 2 Hard Case vs STARTRC DJI Avata 2 Waterproof Hard Case
- GPC is literally a tank. If you're seriously worried about the DJI Goggles 3 lenses getting crushed, this is the one. But ngl, it's heavy and expensive.
- StartRC is much lighter and cheaper. I've used their gear for years and it's solid for hiking, even if the plastic feels a bit thinner than GPC.

2. FPVtosky Hard Case for DJI Avata 2
- This fits the drone, the DJI RC Motion 3, and 4 batteries perfectly. It's what I use cuz it’s not too bulky.

Honestly, id go with the STARTRC DJI Avata 2 Waterproof Hard Case. It’s great value and protects everything well enough for any trail. Just make sure to get a lens cover for the goggles too. gl!

Quick question - r u hiking in wet weather?? For safety, Nanuk 915 for DJI Avata 2 is way tougher than HPRC 2400 for DJI Avata 2. Both have epic foam for Goggles protection!!

So basically the consensus is that it’s a big trade-off between tank-level protection and total weight. Reply #1 was spot on about the GPC being super tough, and the point about hike distance in the second reply is sooo important lol. Tbh, if ur looking for a budget-friendly but high-spec alternative, I’m reallyyy excited about the Lykus Titan MA210 Waterproof Hard Case for DJI Avata 2. It’s usually cheaper than the GPC and weighs a bit less but still has that IP67 rating!! I’m still kinda new to this, but the CNC-cut foam looks super precise for the Goggles 3. Also, honestly, you should probably grab a Skyreat DJI Goggles 3 Lens Cover to put inside... it’s a cheap way to stop scratches when ur moving fast. Hope that helps ur decision!! 👍

Curious about one thing: are you doing like, legitimate mountain hiking or just quick walks from the car?? honestly it makes a huge difference for what I'd suggest.

Before I give full advice, I've got a few thoughts from a technical perspective:

- If ur doing long distances, a full-on hard case can actually be a literal pain because of the weight distribution... plus they dont breathe at all against ur back lol.
- Honestly, for solid protection without the bulk, u should look into basically anything by PGYTECH or even Torvol... they lead the industry for FPV-specific bags that have reinforced internal sections.
- Also, make sure whatever u get has pre-cut high-density foam. I mean, cheap pick-and-pluck stuff actually degrades over time and can get foam grit into the gimbal motors, which is a total nightmare to clean out.

But yeah, how much other gear are u carrying? Like water or extra tools?? That kinda dictates if u need a hardshell or a hybrid backpack. Cheers!
