I just got a Mini 4 Pro for my trip to Utah next week and honestly Im so overwhelmed. I have no idea where to start with all these extra parts and glass things. Everything is so expensive and I dont wanna buy junk. Sorry if this is dumb but what are the absolute must-have accessories I need right now?

Just saw this thread and wanted to chime in because I was in your exact shoes like two months ago. Honestly, my biggest fear was just breaking the thing on day one. I'm a total safety nut and I hate the idea of dirt or sand getting into the sensitive parts while taking off. Actually, I remember being out in a park and the grass was just high enough to clip the blades during the gimbal check... totally scared the life out of me. Since then, I've stuck to a couple of things that make me feel way more secure and I'm really satisfied with how well they work:

  • PGYTECH Drone Landing Pad Pro 50cm is a total lifesaver for those dusty Utah trails. It keeps the camera and the motors away from the grit and I'm really happy with how it folds down into a small bag.
  • DJI Mini 4 Pro 360 Propeller Guard is basically a requirement if you're gonna be flying near any of those narrow rock formations or even just low to the ground. It adds a bit of weight but the peace of mind is worth it. I haven't had a single issue since I started using these. Everything just works well and I don't have to worry about a stray pebble or a light breeze pushing me into a rock ruining my trip. Definitely a better safe than sorry kind of person tho...

@Reply #2 - good point! Are you hiking much? Im satisfied using the Lykus Titan MA210 Waterproof Case for gear organization. Its a cost-effective option that works well.

Congrats on the new drone! Utah is incredible but the lighting is super harsh. I've been flying for a few years now and I've learned the hard way that cheaping out on gear just leads to headaches later. You really want to focus on reliability first so you dont lose your investment.

  • DJI Mini 4 Pro ND Filter Set ND16/64/256
  • These are non-negotiable for the desert. Without them, your video will look jittery and blown out.
  • SanDisk 256GB Extreme microSDXC V30
  • I've tried many cards and this is basically the only brand I trust for 4K footage.
  • DJI Mini 4 Pro Intelligent Flight Battery Plus
  • The extra flight time is worth the peace of mind when you're flying over big scenery. In my experience, sticking to official stuff is better than saving money on a knockoff that might fail. Honestly, just take it slow... it's easy to get distracted by the views. Let me know if you need more help with the setup tho.

Checking in a bit late but you definitely want to protect that investment. Utah sun is no joke and you will get blown out highlights without filters.
