I just picked up the DJI Mini 4 Pro and I'm super excited to start flying! Since I'm mostly into landscape photography, I’m looking for gear that actually improves the experience. Should I prioritize ND filters or a hard case first? What accessories have been absolute game-changers for your setup, especially for keeping it under 249g?
In my experience, I'd definitely tell you to prioritize the DJI Mini 4 Pro ND Filters Set (ND 16/64/256) first if you're serious about landscape stuff! A hard case like the Lykus Titan MA210 Waterproof Hard Case is great for travel, but it wont actually help your image quality, you know? ND filters are literally ESSENTIAL for getting that smooth motion blur on water or keeping your shutter speed at the 180-degree rule during midday shoots... it's a total game-changer for professional-looking footage.
Also, dont sleep on your storage—I always use the SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-I Card because the Mini 4 Pro hits high bitrates and you *really* dont want it lagging during a sunset shot. Plus, these filters weigh almost nothing, so you're definitely staying under that 249g limit. If you gotta fly from dusty spots, maybe grab a PGYTECH Drone Landing Pad Pro too. Seriously, it saves your gimbal!! Cheers!
Just found this thread! Seconding the recommendation above. Basically, high-bitrate 4K video requires V30 speed ratings to prevent data bottlenecks. If the card is too slow, you'll lose footage.
* SanDisk 128GB Extreme microSDXC UHS-I V30: Reliable and fast, lowkey the pro choice.
* Samsung EVO Select 256GB microSDXC UHS-I V30: Better price-per-GB, works well tho.
It depends on your needs, but dont go cheap on storage cuz it’s risky. gl!
I’ve been flying these DJI minis for years now, basically since the first one dropped. Not 100% sure on the exact weight for every brand, but IIRC most ND filters are tiny enough that you *definately* stay under 249g. For landscape work, those filters are honestly a total GAME-CHANGER for long exposures. Id grab those way before a hard case... keeps the whole kit light and portable. gl!
> Should I prioritize ND filters or a hard case first?
Respectfully, I'd actually suggest a different approach. While filters are nice, I’ve found that prioritizing drone insurance and a simple strobe for visibility is way more practical. Honestly, I’ve tried many setups and the one I got saved me during a scary RTH situation once. Safety-first is the way to go cuz great footage doesn't matter if your drone is gone forever... just my two cents!
Did this last week, worked perfectly
