I just blew a huge chunk of my savings on a Mini 4 Pro for my trip to the Rockies next week and honestly the sheer amount of extra gear people list is driving me nuts. I read everywhere that ND filters are a 100% requirement for video but then I see other guys saying the sensor handles light fine on its own and I dont want to waste money if its just hype. Also people keep pushing these landing pads but they look so clunky to strap to a backpack when Im already carrying water and gear. Im totally lost on what I actually need versus whats just marketing fluff. What are the actual must-have accessories for the Mini 4 Pro?
> I read everywhere that ND filters are a 100% requirement for video but then I see other guys saying the sensor handles light fine on its own If you want natural motion blur, you basically have to follow the 180-degree rule. In bright sunlight, the DJI Mini 4 Pro has a fixed f/1.7 aperture, which means the shutter speed will hit 1/4000 easily without help. This makes video look digital and choppy. I would suggest the DJI Mini 4 Pro ND Filters Set ND16/64/256 to force that shutter down to 1/60 or 1/120. Be careful with cheap third-party glass tho, it can add a weird color tint to your Rockies footage. As for landing pads, the gimbal sits very low to the ground. Even small pebbles or dust can jam the motors during start-up. If a pad is too bulky, just make sure you have a fast card like the SanDisk Extreme Pro 256GB microSDXC V30 so your 4K 10-bit files dont corrupt. Always check write speeds before you leave.
