I recently upgraded to the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 for my travel vlogs, and while the image quality is incredible, I’m looking to step up my audio game. I know the DJI Mic 2 is the obvious choice since it pairs directly, but I’m curious if any of you are using third-party options like the Rode Wireless PRO or even a compact shotgun mic via the USB-C port. I mostly film outdoors, so wind rejection and a quick setup are my top priorities. I’m a bit torn between the convenience of the built-in receiver and the potentially better sound quality on other high-end units. Which external microphone setup have you found provides the best balance of portability and professional sound for this specific camera?

Seconding the recommendation above! The DJI Mic 2 is basically the goat for speed. But if your doing more directional stuff outdoors, I'm super happy with this setup: * Sennheiser+MKE+400+Shotgun+Microphone&linkCode=osi&tag=5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Sennheiser MKE 400 Shotgun Microphone - super-cardioid pattern is killer for wind.
* DJI Osmo Pocket 3 USB-C to 3.5mm Adapter - needed for the connection. It works well and the audio depth is honestly better than a lav IMO. gl!

This^ Also wanted to add I'm happy with Sony ECM-LV1 Stereo Lavalier Microphone:
- Simple
- Reliable
- Cheap
Basically it's failsafe for outdoor vlogs... no batteries to worry about. works well!

Sooo I actually spent way too much on gear at first and honestly it was a total mess... totally not as good as expected for the price!! Unfortunately I wasted like $200. For ur budget, maybe just get the Boya BY-M1 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone for like $15? It's lowkey better than the internal mic and super cheap. Lesson learned: don't overspend when a simple wire works fine if ur just starting out... peace

Hey! Sooo audio is basically 50% of your vlog quality, especially when you're battling wind. In my experience, it's really about the trade-off between setup speed and audio depth. * DJI Mic 2: Best value tbh. It pairs direct so you dont need a receiver.
* Rode Wireless PRO: Highkey better sound, but way more expensive at around $399 and bulky. Honestly, for travel, the DJI Mic wins on practicality... it's just way faster. Cheers!
