Hey everyone! I finally upgraded to the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, and I'm absolutely loving the image quality from that 1-inch sensor. However, I’ve been shooting outdoors lately and struggling to keep my shutter speed at double my frame rate without overexposing everything. It’s clear I need a solid set of ND filters to get that smooth, cinematic motion blur.
I’ve been looking at a few options, like the Freewell sets and the official DJI ones, but I’m a bit torn. Since the filters for the Pocket 3 are magnetic, I’m worried about them falling off during fast movements or if the gimbal resets. I’ve also heard some cheaper brands can introduce a nasty color shift or reduce sharpness, which I definitely want to avoid.
I’m mainly shooting travel vlogs and some landscape B-roll. Should I go for a standard ND8/16/32/64 set, or are the Variable NDs (VND) actually worth the convenience for this specific camera? Also, does anyone have experience with the All Day packs that include CPL filters?
If you’ve been using the Pocket 3 for a while, which ND filter brand or specific kit has worked best for you in terms of optical quality and magnetic strength?
Seconding the recommendation above. It's better to stick with fixed filters like the Freewell DJI Osmo Pocket 3 All Day - 8Pack. VNDs are convenient but can stress the motor... pretty risky imo.

+1 to what was said earlier. Honestly, I had issues with some cheap off-brand VNDs recently and it was a total disaster... literally kept throwing "gimbal overloaded" errors because the glass was too heavy for those tiny motors. So frustrating when you're tryna film landscape B-roll and the camera just gives up mid-shot. Unfortunately, even the official DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Magnetic ND Filter Set feels a bit overpriced for just three filters.
If you want something reliable that actually stays on during fast moves, I highkey recommend the Neewer ND Filter Set for DJI Osmo Pocket 3 (ND16/32/64/128). The magnets are actually stronger than the DJI ones and they're super thin, so you dont have to worry about the gimbal hitting the frame when it resets or calibrates. Plus, you get way better value for ur money. Lesson learned: stick to fixed filters like the Skyreat ND Filter Set for DJI Osmo Pocket 3 (ND8/16/32/64) to protect ur motor long-term. VNDs just arent worth the risk tbh.
In my experience, fixed filters are way safer for those tiny gimbal motors than heavy VNDs, and you dont need to spend a fortune.
* K&F Concept DJI Osmo Pocket 3 ND Filter Kit (ND8/16/32/64) — solid magnets, no color cast.
* K&F Concept DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Black Diffusion 1/4 Filter — makes vlogs look reallyyy cinematic.
tbh keeping it light is key for performance!! gl!
Honestly, I've been doing so much research on this since I just got mine and I'm terrified of messing up the gimbal motor. If ur worried about the magnets, I've been looking at the Skyreat ND Filter Set for DJI Osmo Pocket 3. They seem like a really safe middle ground because they're super lightweight compared to the bigger brands. Some people say the Neewer ND Filter Set for Osmo Pocket 3 is also a good choice if ur on a budget, but I'm always worried about the glass quality being a bit hit or miss on the cheaper stuff tbh. Then there is the PolarPro Cinema Series for DJI Osmo Pocket 3. These look like the highest quality ones on the market, but they're pretty expensive. I'm basically wondering if the extra weight of the glass on the premium ones might be bad for the motor in the long run? I just want something that won't fly off if I'm walking fast but also won't strain the camera. The Skyreat ones seem to have really strong magnets for the price tho.
