Looking for the best grip for my X-T5. Considering both comfort and stability. What grip do you recommend?
For what it's worth, I went with the official Fujifilm MHG-XT5 despite the higher price point. This metal hand grip attaches to X-T5 and provides enhanced security and balance when using the camera. Milled from aluminum alloy and matching the silhouette of the camera, this hand grip adds an additional clearance from the base of the body to better support the use of large-diameter lenses when the camera is mounted to a tripod. At the base of the grip, a dovetail design also acts as a quick release plate with Arca-Swiss-style tripod mounts. Yes, it's expensive, but it truly improves the handling of the X-T5. Plus it has the handy Arca-Swiss base. I feel that it completes the camera.
I've used the MHG-XT5 for years. Bulletproof and worth every penny. Comfort trumps all!
Beyond typical grips, consider a SmallRig Arca-Swiss plate with integrated grip (model 4159). Seriously enhances stability! Its CNC-machined aluminum adds minimal weight (around 90g). Mounting it's a breeze – just two screws! I've found it shifts the center of gravity *slightly*, which actually improves handheld balance with larger lenses. It's not a full grip replacement, but an amazing, low-profile alternative for rock-solid mounting and a bit more to hold onto!
