I recently purchased the Fujifilm X-T5 and I'm looking to upgrade my audio setup for video recording. I'm in need of a high-quality microphone that will work well with this camera. My budget is around $200-300.

I'm mainly interested in recording interviews, so I need something that will capture clear audio in both indoor and outdoor settings. I'm open to both on-camera shotgun mics and wireless lavalier systems.

Does anyone have experience with microphones that pair well with the X-T5? I'd really appreciate any recommendations or advice!

DJI has just released the MIC 3. Get it now.

How is this compared with mic 2?

I've been using the Rode VideoMic Pro Plus with my X-T5 for about 6 months now and absolutely love it. The auto-sensing 3.5mm/USB-C output is perfect, and the built-in rechargeable battery means no more AA battery anxiety during long shoots. Audio quality is fantastic for the price point. Just make sure you're recording in F-Log if you plan to do any serious color grading later!

@cheng DJI Mic 2 helped me a lot when shooting videos.

I've had great results using the Rode VideoMicro II compact on-camera microphone with my X-T5. It delivers much better audio quality than the built-in mics, but is still very lightweight and easy to mount on the hot shoe. The included Rycote Lyre shock mount helps minimize handling noise. For the price, it's an excellent option for vlogging and video with the X-T5.

I'd recommend the Sennheiser MKE 400. It has a super-cardioid pickup pattern which helps isolate your subject's voice from background noise. It's also weather-resistant, which is great if you're shooting outdoors with your X-T5.

DJI Mic 2 is recommended.

I use the latest DJI Mic Mini, works well, and very compact.

For budget-friendly options, I've been really happy with the Rode VideoMic GO II. It's lightweight, doesn't need batteries, and the audio quality is surprisingly good for the price point. Perfect if you're just getting into video with the X-T5 and don't want to break the bank. The built-in shock mount helps reduce handling noise too.

If you are looking for a professional microphone, get the Sennheiser MKE 600.

I highly recommend the Deity V-Mic D3 Pro for the X-T5. It's a super-cardioid shotgun mic that offers broadcast-quality sound at a reasonable price. It has a low noise floor, making it great for capturing clean audio in various environments. The stepless gain control is a nice feature, allowing for precise adjustments on the fly.
