Hey everyone! Has anyone spotted any good deals on the Fujifilm X-M5 for Black Friday/Cyber Monday this year? I've been eyeing this camera for months but hoping to snag it at a discount. Fujifilm deals are typically more modest than Canon or Sony, but I'm curious if anyone's found body-only deals or kit bundles from B&H, Adorama or other retailers? Any insights appreciated - trying to decide if I should wait or jump on current pricing!

tbh Luna is spot on about those DIY kits... it’s a total nightmare when things go south. basically tried saving a few bucks on a kit from an unverified seller last year and it was the worst mistake. i still get a headache thinking about the back-and-forth emails.

  • the risk of getting grey market gear that Fuji won't even look at for repairs is just too high imo
  • i hate how we have to be like detectives just to find a honest price these days, it's really draining and makes me wanna just give up on the hunt

Ok so, I’ve been digging into the X-M5 specs and ngl, the technical side of these newer Fuji releases makes me a bit nervous about "too good to be true" deals. I tried the DIY route once with an older X-series—basically trying to piece together my own kit from various international sellers to save a few bucks—and it was a total mess when I actually needed a sensor calibration later. I’d definitely watch out for a few things if you're hunting for a deep discount:
- Gray market units often have serial numbers that Fuji’s official service centers won’t even touch for repairs. - Some "bundles" include third-party batteries that don't always play nice with the X-M5’s power management/thermals, iirc.
- Be wary of "open box" deals that might have been returned due to minor sensor alignment issues or dead pixels that are hard to spot at first. Honestly, I think? it’s probably safer to just wait for a legit Fuji-authorized discount, even if it’s small. Tbh, saving $50 isn't worth losing the ability to get professional service if the hardware acts up down the road. Just my two cents from someone who’s learned that the hard way!

Just catching up on this! Ive been in the Fuji world since the original X100 and honestly the excitement never gets old. Since the X-M5 is still pretty fresh, you might not see a massive price slash on the body itself but the bundles are where the real magic happens. Heres my strategy for snagging the best value:

  • Keep an eye on the official Fujifilm Refurbished site, sometimes they list open box units for way less right before the holidays.
  • Look for kits that include the Fujifilm XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ as those usually get the biggest BF cuts compared to body-only.
  • Sometimes smaller authorized shops like Samys or Moment toss in a free SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I or an extra Fujifilm NP-W126S Li-Ion Battery. Ngl, waiting for that perfect deal is stressful but the X-M5 is such a fun little beast for travel. Totally worth the wait if you can grab even a small discount or some free accessories. Just make sure you stay away from those random eBay sellers knumtstgfs mentioned... total nightmare fuel right there. Good luck!

Honestly, I've seen Fuji's older models unfortunately not drop much, especially with sensor tech improvements. Might be better to look at slightly older, proven models for solid reliability and better deals.
