I’ve been shooting with my Fuji X-T5 for a few months now, and while the performance is amazing, those official NP-W235 batteries are seriously pricey! I’m planning a week-long trip soon and need to stock up on spares, but I'm nervous about third-party options. I’ve heard horror stories about batteries swelling or losing capacity after just a few cycles. I've been looking at brands like SmallRig, Wasabi Power, and Nitecore, but I’m not sure which ones are actually safe for long-term use. I’d also love a reliable dual USB-C charger so I can power up on the go. Does anyone have a specific third-party brand they’ve used for years without issues? Which non-OEM batteries would you actually trust in your camera?

In my experience:
SmallRig NP-W235 Camera Battery and Charger Kit: ~$55, USB-C is clutch.
Wasabi Power NP-W235 2-Pack: ~$30, cheap but loses charge faster.
SmallRig is the winner tbh!! gl!

hey, so i've been geeking out on the specs for x-t5 power options lately cuz i also hate the oem prices... honestly, it's kinda ridiculous. if you want technical reliability, i would suggest checking out the Nitecore NP-W235 USB-C Rechargeable Li-ion Battery. what makes these different is the built-in thermal protection and the integrated usb-c port on the cell itself. basically, you can charge them without a cradle if ur in a pinch, which is lowkey a lifesaver during travel. i've heard they use pretty high-grade cells that dont have the same swelling issues as the super cheap stuff. then you've got the Watson NP-W235 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (2250mAh). these are basically the "pro" choice if you dont want to buy fuji branded. they're super consistent with their mah ratings and usually match the oem discharge curve reallyyy well. i guess if i had to pick, nitecore wins on tech features but watson wins on pure track record. for the charger, seriously look at the Nitecore FX3 Dual Slot USB QC Digital Travel Charger for Fujifilm NP-W235. most cheap dual chargers are 'dumb' chargers, but the fx3 actually gives you a digital readout of the battery health and voltage. it's technical overkill for some, but it's the best way to monitor if ur third-party batteries are starting to lose capacity or get unstable. i mean, it even supports quick charge (qc 2.0) so it's way faster than the generic usb blocks. hope that helps with ur trip! gl!

1. Patona Protect NP-W235 Battery — has a fire-resistant shell!
2. ISDT NP2 Air Dual Channel Charger I'm kinda cautious, but these work well and I’ve had no complaints. Seriously happy!
