Hey everyone! I recently switched to a Fujifilm X-T5, and while I absolutely love the system, the stock neck strap is really starting to dig in during my long street photography walks. I usually have the 16-55mm f/2.8 attached, so the setup is a bit heavier than it looks. I’m looking for something that balances all-day comfort with that classic Fuji aesthetic. I’ve been eyeing Peak Design for the quick-release convenience, but I’m also considering some artisan leather options to match the retro vibe. Does anyone have a specific recommendation for a strap that distributes weight well without being too bulky on a mirrorless body? I'd love to hear what's working best for your setups!

Quick question - do you carry cross-body or strictly neck? That Fujifilm XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR is like 655g, so the leverage is high. For pure ergonomics, I'd suggest the BlackRapid Curve Breathe Camera Strap, tho it lacks the retro vibe. If you want leather, maybe consider the SmallRig Leather Camera Shoulder Strap 3485? The wider pad is basically mandatory for that weight. Good luck!

Hmm, I've had a different experience. Tbh, thin rope straps or basic leather can be risky with that heavy 16-55mm... i'd seriously worry about lug failure or fraying over time! tbh i feel u, that 16-55mm is a total *brick* on the X-T5. honestly, stock straps are just not designed for that weight. For your situation, I'd suggest: * Go with Peak Design for utility and quick swaps
* Look at any leather strap from Clever Supply for the vibe Basically, just get something with a wider profile to distribute the weight better. It works way better. gl!

Like someone mentioned, that lens is heavy enough to make anyone rethink their life choices after a few hours of walking. I actually gave up on the expensive official options after a while because they were either too thin or just didnt feel worth the premium price tag. I ended up just making my own. I went to a local craft store, grabbed some thick cord and a couple of heavy-duty connectors, and spent an evening watching tutorials on how to weave a really wide shoulder pad area. Honestly, its not the prettiest thing in the world but it works better than any of the leather ones i tried previously. The DIY approach let me get the length exactly right so the camera sits right at my palms reach without swinging around too much. Plus, since i made the contact point wider, the weight is spread out across my shoulder instead of digging in like a wire. It kinda has that rugged look that fits the Fuji vibe anyway. If you are tired of the neck pain, maybe skip the store-bought stuff and try building something custom... its cheaper and actually solves the physics problem of that heavy glass.
