For the Panasonic S1, if you want to unlock its full potential, especially for high-bitrate video and clearing the buffer quickly during burst shooting, you really need to invest in a CFexpress Type B card. The S1 has two card slots: one for CFexpress Type B (or XQD with a firmware update) and one for UHS-II SD cards. I use a SanDisk Extreme Pro CFexpress card, and the speed is incredible. It ensures I never hit a buffer limit when shooting action or wildlife and handles all the 4K video modes without a single dropped frame. It's a professional-grade camera, and it deserves a professional-grade card to keep up.

For wildlife photography, a fast CFE B card is essential to handle burst shooting without lengthy buffer clearing times. The Sandisk Extreme Pro 128 GB card is a reliable choice, though larger capacity may be preferable for extended wildlife shoots. Consider using a secondary, fast SD card for JPEG storage, which optimizes CFE card space and simplifies raw file transfers. This dual-card setup doesn't significantly impact camera performance compared to storing all files on the CFE card alone. The combination of a high-speed CFE B card for raw files and a fast SD card for JPEGs offers an efficient workflow for wildlife photographers, balancing speed, storage, and convenience.
