Hey all, new to the Panasonic S9. Looking for a good external mic for vlogging car stuff. What's the best option without breaking the bank? My budget's around $200, what mics should I check out?

Been using the Rode VideoMicro with my setup. Super compact, decent audio for the price. Under $60, and works well mounted on a cold shoe.

Forget brand hype! S9's audio input is surprisingly sensitive. Before buying, test its built-in mic *thoroughly* in your car. Wind noise a killer? Deadcat windscreen might be ALL you need! Save cash, experiment first. If still noisy, *then* consider a Rode VideoMicro. Trust me, I've wasted money on mics I didn't need!

Hey! Rode mics are great, but pricey. Honestly? I've had good luck with a $30 lav mic from Amazon paired with a cheap audio recorder tucked in the glovebox. Works well enough for engine sounds!

Before chasing audio, prioritize safe mounting. Had issues with cheap suction cups. Rode VideoMicro is decent, but ensure secure attachment; a dropped camera near pedals is a nightmare.
