I recently purchased the Lumix S5 II and I'm looking for a compatible flash to enhance my photography. I mainly shoot portraits, events, and some outdoor scenes. I'd like a versatile flash that balances power, durability, and ease of use.
I'm considering options from Panasonic and third-party manufacturers like Godox or Profoto. Factors I'm prioritizing include TTL compatibility, wireless control, recycle time, and overall value for money.
I'd appreciate any insights from fellow Lumix S5 II owners or experienced photographers on the best flash units for this camera. What has worked well for you, and are there any specific models you recommend?
tbh I was super nervous about using third-party gear when I first got my S5 II cuz I didnt want to mess up the pins or something. I ended up testing both a native option and a Godox to see the difference for myself.
@laoooo Yes, Godox V1 is a good flash for Lumix S5. Love it.
Godox V1 is one of the top recommended flash for S5 II.
I recommend the Godox V1 or TT350 with a flash trigger. I recently got the TT350, which works great, is compact, and fits in my small camera bag. The only downside is the lack of a rechargeable battery pack, consuming batteries every 15-30 shots. The AD200 Pro also seems like a good alternative for off-camera flash.
