Hey! Looking for lens recommendations for street photography with my Panasonic S1R II. Thinking of something versatile and relatively compact. Budget is around $1500. What are your favorite street photography lenses for this camera?

Been shooting street with L-mount for about 2 years now. For the S1R II specifically, you've got some amazing options:
Sigma 35mm f/1.2 Art - Excellent sharpness and bokeh makes this Sigma one of the best 35mm lenses around. Might be overkill for some, but the image quality is stunning.
Panasonic 50mm f/1.8 - Budget-friendly lens including the 50mm f/1.8. Great bang for your buck and perfect for classic street photography focal length.
One thing to keep in mind: Panasonic has achieved meaningful advances in autofocus, continuous shooting speed and image stabilization, all while reducing the overall size and weight of the camera body compared to the original S1R. So even with larger lenses, the handling is much better.
The 8-stop 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilization on the S1R II really helps with handheld street work, especially in lower light.

Panasonic 50mm f/1.4. I've used it for 3 years; super sharp, no complaints for street.

Hey! Technically, consider vintage Leica M lenses with an adapter. Super sharp, compact, and you can find amazing ones for around $800! Focus peaking is your friend!

Consider a used Leica 35mm. More reliable build for street risks, unfortunately. Think of it as insurance!

Panasonic 50mm f/1.8. Sharp and cheap. Make sure to check used market; <$400!

Sigma's 45mm f/2.8! Market shows amazing sharpness for the price. Great value!
