OM-1 Mark II flash needed! Any recommendations for mostly indoor use? Budget is around $300.

Coming back to this... tbh if you have $300 to spend, you should definitely look past the basic AA-powered units. I switched to Li-ion flashes a few years ago and honestly never looked back! Carrying around dozens of Eneloops was such a hassle. I have been using the Godox V1-O Round Head Flash for Olympus on my OM-1 for a long time now and the specs are just night and day compared to the tiny units:

  • 76Ws output lets you bounce off high or dark ceilings easily
  • 1.5s recycle time at full power is amazing for catching quick action
  • That VB26 battery usually gets me nearly 500 shots on a single charge If the round head feels a bit too chunky, the Godox V860III-O TTL Flash for Olympus uses the same battery and has a similar Guide Number. Seriously, once you experience that fast recycle speed and the built-in modeling light, youll never go back! Let me know if you want to talk about the wireless X-system too, I love geeking out on the technical side of these setups.

Hey! Indoor flash, eh? I've been using the Godox TT350o on my OM-D E-M10 Mark II (similar setup!). Compact, TTL works great, and recycle time is surprisingly quick. I love it for family shots. Might be a tad underpowered for HUGE rooms, but for most indoor stuff, it's fantastic! Plus, it's usually around $85! Check it out!

Hey! For indoor OM-1 Mark II, consider flash recycle time! Godox TT350O is amazing, recycles in under 3 seconds. Check voltage compatibility - crucial for safe operation!

Honestly, for indoor use, don't overspend. I had issues with pricier flashes. Consider the Godox TT350o. It's around $100, and the recycle time is decent enough for most shots.

Godox TT350O works; reliable and cheaper than Olympus. Research compatibility before purchase.

Hey! Indoor flash, eh? Beyond features, consider overheat protection crucial. I've seen cheap flashes melt plastic (seriously!). Check Metz units; their thermal management is solid. Spend a bit more for long-term reliability and avoid frying your OM-1's hot shoe. Peace of mind is worth it!
