Looking for the best APS-C mirrorless camera, budget under $1500. I'm prioritizing image quality and video capabilities. Any recommendations based on personal experience? What are your favorite lenses for landscapes in that price range?
Just saw this thread and wanted to jump in! > Spend the rest on killer glass; you'll see bigger gains than chasing the newest body. I totally agree that lenses are a huge deal, but honestly, if you look at the recent performance benchmarks, the newer sensors are kinda on another level for video. I’ve been reading a lot of technical reviews lately (still learning the ropes tho!) and the Sony a6700 seems like a beast for under $1500. Basically, it has this new AI processing unit that makes the autofocus way faster than the older a6400. Like, it tracks subjects almost perfectly in the tests I saw. For video, it can do 4K at 120p, which is soooo good for slow motion. Also, the readout speed is much faster on this sensor, so you dont get as much of that annoying rolling shutter when youre panning across a landscape. For a landscape lens, maybe check out the Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary? The lab data shows it's really sharp across the frame even at f/2.8. Do you think that combo would be too much over the budget? I think you can find the body for around $1399 if you look around!
Been happy with my Fujifilm X-T4. Excellent image quality, great video. Paired it with the XF 16-80mm f/4. Works well for landscapes; no complaints after 2 years.
Image quality's key. Consider Fujifilm X-T4; its IBIS yields sharper handheld shots, crucial for landscape video. Be mindful of rolling shutter; test thoroughly before committing.
Hey! Image quality is key, but think SAFETY first! Don't get distracted while driving! Seriously. For landscapes, I love the Sony a6400. Fantastic camera, but pull over to actually USE it! Consider a dashcam too – Thinkware's a solid choice. Around $300, peace of mind is priceless!
Heads up! Sony a6400 is great, often under $1000 body-only. Spend the rest on killer glass; you'll see bigger gains than chasing the newest body. Just a thought!
Before dropping $1500, consider if you *really* need mirrorless. Learning Lightroom might boost your current photos more effectively. Be careful; it's a steep learning curve!
Hey! Market's wild, right? Fujifilm's holding strong value; maybe snag an X-T4 used? Heard amazing things! Are they still going for around $1200?
