How do I actually share my Target registry link with my family without just sending them to the main website? I feel like such a technophobe asking this but I am completely lost on where the share button is hiding. I spent all morning adding stuff for my baby shower - we are doing a small thing here in Chicago in about six weeks - and I thought it would be obvious how to send it out but I guess not. My mother in law is literally waiting at the print shop right now to get the invitations made and she needs the link to put on the card. Every time I click on my registry in the app it just shows me the items I picked but I dont see a link I can copy or anything. Do I need to be on a computer to do this or can I do it from my phone? I am so worried people are just going to see my personal account info or something if I copy the wrong thing from the browser address bar. Is there like a specific public link I have to activate first? Sorry if this is a really basic thing I just dont want to mess up the invites...
Trust me, i have been there! Over the years I have made tons of registries and they always hide the button. Go to your registry in the app, hit Manage, and look for the little arrow icon at the top right. Honestly, a walmart wishlist maker is way easier to navigate than store apps sometimes... Good luck with the Chicago shower!
The URL architecture is actually designed to be public-facing while keeping your PII secure! Just look for the share icon in the top right of the app to generate that specific public link. It is totally amazing how they partition the user data.
I have been using these registries for years, starting with my first wedding shower, and I have always been so happy with how they handle the privacy side of things. No complaints here... it works well once you get it going. Kinda have to disagree a bit with the specific button advice tho because the app layout changes like every two weeks. Honestly, this exact same panic happened to me for a housewarming party last year and I just went over to YouTube. Searching for sharing target registry link will bring up this one really clear video from a few months ago that shows exactly where the menu moved to. It is much easier to just watch someone do it than for us to describe icons that might have moved. Just check the official help pages on the Target site too, they usually have a gif showing you where to click.
