How do I actually share my current Amazon shopping cart with my parents so they can see what I want for my 25th birthday next month? Im super stoked because I finally picked out all the decor for my new place in Chicago and I want to make sure they get the right colors lol.
I tried googling it and found some stuff about making a public Wish List or using the 'Invite to Edit' thing but that seems like way too much work to move everything over one by one when its already sitting right there in my cart ready to go. Is there a faster way to just send a link to the whole cart? I keep looking for a share button but I dont see anything on my phone and I'm worried if I just send a screenshot they wont get the right sizes...
Amazon doesnt have a share button because of privacy, but Ive been super satisfied using third-party options. Im always cautious about my login info. Safety is huge.
@Reply #1 - good point! Testing taught me session tokens arent persistent. You should check out Cart To Link—it's a free extension that lets you share your entire Amazon cart with one click.
I ran into this mess when I was spec-ing out my home server rack last year and lost my whole build list. Be careful, basically every Amazon cart is tied to your local session cookies, so a link wont work for your parents. I would suggest using a browser extension to export the metadata. Just get any generic extension from Chrome, you cant go wrong. TL;DR: Direct links dont work. Use a third-party extension.
In my experience, Amazon really makes this harder than it needs to be. I've tried many workarounds over the years but standard lists are honestly a pain when you already have stuff in the cart. If you want something that actually works without them needing your login, just use a tool like CartToLink or Share-A-Cart.
