I’m trying to figure out the best way to share my Amazon cart with a couple of people (family members) so we can all review the items before placing one order. I’ve already added about 15 items from different sellers, and I don’t want everyone logging into my account or accidentally changing quantities. Is there a way to send a link to the cart, or convert it into a shareable list that keeps the same items, sizes, and colors? Also, does it work across desktop and the mobile app? What’s the simplest, safest method to share an Amazon cart with others?

Hello, you can use Cart to link extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/cart-to-link-share-amazon/ddajofifhfhmbiaigckfaopakndgpipb

For your situation, I’d suggest moving everything into an Amazon List/Wish List and sharing that link—people can view/comment without touching your cart. Cart links aren’t reliably shareable, and it works on desktop + app.

Careful: don’t share your Amazon login or try to “share” the cart link—over the years I’ve found cart URLs are flaky, can change per device/session, and folks can accidentally mess with quantities. Why it matters: carts are tied to your account + cookies, not meant for collaboration. What I recommend: move everything to a List (or a dedicated “Shopping List”), set it to Shared, and send the link. People can view on desktop/mobile and you can keep final control of the cart.

Just sharing my experience: cart links were super flaky for my family group order (desktop vs app never matched), so I moved everything into an Amazon List and shared that—stable, safe, and no one could mess with quantities.

Re: Reply #2 - totally agree. Cart URLs are basically session tokens in disguise… they’re not meant to be shared, and in my experience they break across devices/app logins and can even re-price or swap sellers.

Option A (best overall): Move items to an Amazon List (Wish List / Shopping List)
- Pros: Free ($0), safest (no account sharing), works on desktop + mobile app, and people can comment/suggest without changing your quantities.
- Cons: Lists don’t “lock” variants perfectly. If you add the wrong size/color to the list, it’ll stay wrong; but if you added the *right* variant, it usually sticks.

Option B: Use “Save for later” + List as a staging area
- Pros: Keeps your cart clean, and you can keep a “final” list for approval, then add to cart when everyone signs off.
- Cons: Still two-step.

Option C: External copy (Google Sheet / notes)
- Pros: Also $0 and super clear for group review; you can paste the product links + desired size/color + current price.
- Cons: More manual, and links can drift if the seller changes.

Budget tip: Lists make it easier to track price drops. I usually tell family: “If it’s not urgent, give it 24–72 hours.” Amazon pricing is volatile and you can sometimes save a few bucks per item, which adds up across 15 items.

Practical workflow: create a List → set to “Shared” → invite family → ask them to comment “approve/deny” → you do the final add-to-cart. Simple and nobody touches your cart. Hope this helps!

Oh man, I’ve been there… I once tried “sharing” my cart with family for a group order and it turned into chaos. Cart links are basically session-based and not meant for collaboration—unfortunately I’ve had issues with them breaking on mobile, swapping sellers, or just showing an empty cart.

Here’s what I recommend (safety-first):

**Option A: Amazon List (best overall)**
- **Pros:** Shareable link, works on desktop + app, people can view (and you can allow comments), nobody can mess with your quantities/payment.
- **Cons:** It’s not literally your cart; you’ll still add to cart when ready.

**Option B: “Buy again” / save-for-later workaround (meh)**
- **Pros:** Keeps your cart cleaner.
- **Cons:** Still not safely shareable; others can’t reliably see it.

**Option C: Screenshot/export (quick + dumb but safe)**
- **Pros:** Zero risk.
- **Cons:** No links, no live updates.

Lesson learned: keep checkout private, share a List for review. Hope this helps!

Story time: I tried the “cart link” thing for a family order and it was a mess… it worked on my desktop, broke on my sister’s phone, and somehow quantities changed (cue chaos lol). What finally felt “safe” was copying everything into an Amazon List and sharing that link—everyone could review on desktop + the app without touching checkout. It’s a bit DIY/manual, but way less stressful and free!
