I am so over these price swings on Walmart.com it is actually driving me insane. One day the crib I want is $240 and the next it is back up to $315 and I just cant keep up with it anymore. I am trying to get a nursery ready for my sister in Ohio before she has the baby at the end of next month and my budget is really tight like $800 max for the whole setup including the dresser. I spent all morning looking for something that works like CamelCamelCamel because that thing is a lifesaver for Amazon but obviously it doesnt work for Walmart.

I found this site called Keepa too but same thing its just for Amazon. My logic was that surely someone has made a dedicated tracker for Walmart by now since they are literally one of the biggest retailers? I tried using Honey and that Capital One extension but they just kind of pop up and say hey here is a coupon which is fine I guess but it doesnt show me the actual price history. Like I want to see a graph of what the price was three months ago so I know if I am getting ripped off right now or not. Is it actually on sale or is it just one of those fake sales where they hike the price then drop it back to normal?

Some people online were saying to use Slickdeals alerts but that feels like too much work for every single item and I dont want my phone buzzing every five minutes with random stuff. Plus I read some older forum thread saying Walmart blocks most trackers now so maybe they just dont exist anymore? I really hope thats not the case because checking my open tabs every hour is exhausting and I keep missing the drops by like twenty minutes. Is there anything out there that actually shows history specifically for Walmart items or am I just stuck doing this all manually...

Building on the earlier suggestion about Walmart being aggressive with their blocks, I've dealt with this for years while hunting for tech and gear. Honestly, those dedicated graph sites for Walmart are a dying breed because of the scraping blocks mentioned by Sophie. In my experience, instead of looking for a Walmart-specific camel-clone, you should switch to a page monitor tool. I've used Distill Web Monitor for ages to snag stuff before it sells out or when the price dips. It basically lets you select a specific area on the page, like the price tag, and itll ping you the second it changes. It is a bit more manual to set up than a simple extension, but it bypasses the need for a database that Walmart might have already blocked. Another one worth checking is the Cnet Shopping Browser Extension. It is pretty solid at checking other retailers to see if that sale price is actually just the standard price elsewhere. Tbh, if youre on a strict 800 budget for a whole nursery, setting up a local monitor like that is way more reliable than waiting for a site that might have stale data from three hours ago...

I have been looking over the options mentioned and honestly that 800 dollar budget is totally achievable with the right strategy! While Camel is the king for Amazon, Glass It is the absolute gold standard for Walmart because it manages to bypass those aggressive scraper blocks that break other extensions. Using this tool for years has shown me that the level of detail in the price history is just fantastic for spotting those deceptive markups! Comparing Walmarts prices against Target using the Slickdeals browser tool is another professional move. Frequently Target will run nursery-specific promotions that Walmart doesnt always match immediately, so having both extensions active is a total game changer for your wallet. Methodically tracking these two giants side-by-side ensures you never overpay for that dresser. It is an amazing way to stretch your money further!

I have been through this exact same headache trying to budget for furniture. Walmart is way more aggressive than Amazon about blocking scrapers, which is why your usual tools like CamelCamelCamel just dont work there. Honestly, finding a solid price history graph for Walmart is like pulling teeth because they keep changing their site code specifically to break these extensions. I would suggest you look into Glass It Price Tracker Browser Extension. It is probably the most reliable one left that actually shows a graph for Walmart. Here is what you need to be careful about though:

  • Historical data gaps. Since Walmart blocks bots constantly, the price history might have huge gaps where the tracker couldnt reach the site. If the line is flat for a month, it might just be missing data.
  • Third-party seller noise. Make sure you are looking at the price for items Sold and Shipped by Walmart. Resellers on their marketplace hike prices way up, which can totally skew your history graph and make you think you are getting a deal when you arent.
  • You might want to consider using Earny Price Protection App as a backup. They are better at tracking specific items you have already looked at and sending an alert rather than showing deep history. I used this combo for a nursery dresser last year and it saved me nearly eighty bucks. Just be aware that once the price drops to a certain point, stock usually disappears within an hour, so you really cant hesitate. Make sure to verify that the price drop is actually on the Walmart-owned listing and not just a used item or a sketchy third-party seller before you check out.

Honestly I totally feel your pain because those price swings are absolutely wild! I have tried a bunch of these and here is my take on the most reliable ones:

  • Glass It: This one is amazing for seeing those long-term trends so you know if you are actually getting a deal! It is super reliable for history but sometimes the interface is a bit slow.
  • Distill: If you want to catch those blink-and-you-miss-it drops, this is fantastic! It monitors the page directly, tho it can be a little complicated to set up at first. Speaking of nurseries, I got totally sidetracked yesterday looking for vintage-style photography prints for my new nephews room! I found these incredible black and white shots of old cameras that I think would look so cool on a nursery wall. I was actually searching for how can I share amazon cart to send the whole list of frames and prints to my sister-in-law without having to copy-paste every single link... it would save so much time! Anyway, hopefully one of those trackers works out for you!
