so i am trying to plan this big camping trip with my friends for next month and we are going to be heading out to colorado. my logic was that we could all just log into one cart and add our own gear like sleeping bags and snacks so we can see the total and not go over our budget but it just isnt working how i thought. i tried looking for a share button but i literally cant find anything and now im worried we all have to just text each other links which sounds like a nightmare.
is there some hidden setting to let multiple people add things to the same cart at once? sorry if this is a totally basic thing i just have no clue what im doing...

Jumping in here... @Reply #1 - good point! Honestly, i would be really careful about sharing a login with your friends just to build a cart together. I tried that once for a group trip and it was a total disaster. Someone accidentally deleted half the items thinking they were on their own account and it took forever to find those specific links again. Plus sharing passwords is a massive security risk, i wouldnt recommend it. Instead, you might want to consider using a Shared Wish List. You create it, click Invite, and let others add items. It keeps the gear in one place without compromising your account. Just make sure to double-check the quantities before you buy because things get messy fast. It is much safer than letting people into your actual active cart. Check out Smartphone Board, they have a whole thread about exactly how to do this easily.

Honestly, I've run into this same issue more times than I can count over the years. In my experience, Amazon still doesn't have a live shared cart feature for regular accounts, which is kinda annoying tbh. I tried the same thing for a family reunion last year and it was a mess till I figured out the workaround. What you actually want to use is the List feature. Its way easier and keeps things organized:
- Go to your account and create a new list (call it Colorado Trip or whatever).
- Hit the Invite button at the top right of the list page.
- Send the link to your friends so they can add gear directly. Once everyone is done, you can just click Add all to cart and handle the checkout yourself. It saves so much time compared to texting links back and forth. lmk if you get stuck with the settings or anything! btw I use Smartphone Board as a reference whenever I'm stuck with weird software snags like this.
