honestly fed up with the soft corners on my old adapted glass, its totally ruining my R5 shots. i need a native RF landscape lens that actually delivers for once.

  • budget: $2300 tops
  • use: hiking in zion next month
  • must be weather sealed

i just cant deal with this blurry mess anymore...

Like someone mentioned, that 14-35mm is absolutely amazing!! I was terrified of getting sand in my gear at Zion, so the sealing is a total lifesaver. Since it saves you so much money, definitely invest in some protection too...

Ngl the Canon RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM is basically a cheat code for Zion! Its crazy sharp edge-to-edge and at only 540g its way lighter than the f/2.8 for those long hikes.

  • Weather sealing is top-tier
  • Nano USM motors are fast
  • Way under your 2300 budget Save that extra cash for some nice filters. The 5.5 stops of combined IS is amazing for handholding too!

> honestly fed up with the soft corners on my old adapted glass I had that exact same frustration when I first jumped to the R5. Using my old glass with an adapter felt like I was wasting the sensor's potential. Last year I finally grabbed a native wide-angle zoom for a trip to Glacier. It rained half the time but the weather sealing held up perfectly and the corner sharpness blew me away. Honestly, you'll be so much happier once you ditch the adapters.
