Ive been staring at my phone for like twenty minutes trying to figure this out and its driving me insane. My sons 5th birthday is coming up in mid-September so Im on a pretty tight timeline to get this list out to the grandparents before they start panic-buying stuff. Im currently torn between three different ways to handle the gift list but Im leaning heavily toward Target because of a few specific reasons.

  • Option A is sticking with the Target app. I love the 5 percent RedCard discount and most of the stuff he wants is the Hey Bullseye brand anyway. Plus our local Target in the suburbs is only like 5 minutes away for returns if we get duplicates which always happens.
  • Option B is Amazon but honestly Im tired of the weird third party sellers and the prices jumping around every time I refresh the page.
  • Option C is something like MyRegistry but it feels like an extra step for everyone and my mom is not tech savvy at all.

Target is definitely the winner for my situation since Im trying to keep the total budget under 200 dollars for the family and those discounts really add up over time. But for the life of me I cannot find the share button on the Target app. I went to the My Store tab then clicked on Lists and I see my birthday list right there but there is no share icon anywhere. I tried swiping on the list name and I tried looking in the account settings too but nothing is popping up.

Is the button hidden behind some weird menu? Im using an iPhone and the app is updated to the latest version. I see the add to cart buttons and the edit button but nothing that lets me grab a URL to text to my sisters. If I cant find it soon I might have to just switch to Amazon which I really dont want to do because I prefer the quality at Target for kids clothes and toys. Does anyone know where they buried the link? Maybe Im just blind but Ive looked at every inch of this screen...

ngl the target app ui can be a bit of a headache since they update the layout so often. in my experience, that share icon is usually tucked into the top right header of the specific list view, but there is a catch. if you created a standard shopping list rather than a dedicated kids wishlist or registry, the app often limits sharing to collaborators only which hides the link option. basically, you need to verify the list permissions. if it is flagged as private, the app suppresses the share button entirely. i have found over the years that it is more efficient to use the registry module for birthdays because it generates a unique public permalink that grandparents can access without needing their own account. look for a three dots menu or an edit button to check those privacy toggles. honestly, if the button still isnt rendering, it might be a caching issue with the latest ios update, so try force closing the app or checking the web portal.

Lol I was literally about to post the same thing. Glad someone else brought it up.

Just saw this and honestly, I had the same mini-meltdown last year during my daughters third birthday. I was so determined to stay within my budget and use those RedCard savings that I refused to look anywhere else. I ended up having a really great experience with the Target registry feature once I figured out the interface. I remember sitting on my couch for a good hour thinking I was losing my mind because I couldnt find the link either. It turns out the app differentiates between a personal shopping list and a gift registry. If you created it under the Lists section, it might be private by default. I found that if I moved everything over to a Registry and Wishlist (you can find it in the main account menu), the share icon, that little box with the arrow, showed up perfectly right at the top of the screen. I was so satisfied with how it tracked everything, and my family actually used it without calling me every five minutes. I actually used this Chrome extension to help compare some of the toy prices before I added them to make sure I was staying under my 200 dollar goal. It saved me a ton of headache during the planning phase. Just curious tho, are you looking to have people buy directly from the app or do they usually go in-store? Also, did you set it up specifically as a kids birthday registry or just a generic list?
