Need some solid memory card suggestions for my Sony a7 IV. I'm shooting both stills and video, so looking for cards that can handle the write speeds for 4K recording and continuous burst shooting without dropping frames. Considering both CF Express Type A and SD cards since the a7 IV has dual slots. What cards have you been using reliably? Any particular speed ratings or brands you'd recommend? Thinking 128GB or 256GB capacity. Would love to hear about real-world performance experiences. Thanks!

The Sony a7 IV has two memory card slots: Slot 1 supports CFexpress Type A and UHS-I/UHS-II SD cards, while Slot 2 only supports UHS-I and UHS-II SD cards. For best performance, I'd recommend going with a fast UHS-II V90 card if you're on a budget, or splurge on a CFexpress Type A card if you want the fastest speeds possible

Just tested 21 CFexpress Type-A cards in my a7 IV! For the Sony A7 IV, I recommend looking at the Lexar Silver or Pergear Standard CFexpress Type-A cards. The value is unbeatable, and they are more than fast enough for the Sony A7IV

The great news is that the Sony A7 IV supports the CFexpress 2.0 standard but not the latest 4.0 standard. However, you can still use CFexpress 4.0 cards in the A7IV because they are backwards compatible, you just won't see any advantages in-camera. But you will get faster file transfers to your computer with a CFexpress 4.0 compatible card reader.
