Is anyone tracking early Black Friday & Cyber Monday 2025 deals for the Canon EOS R5 C? I’m planning to upgrade for hybrid photo/video work and wondering what kind of discounts we might realistically see this year—body only and kit, plus bundles (CFexpress cards, extra batteries, cages, etc.). Were last year’s savings significant compared to used prices? Also, are there particular retailers or authorized dealers that usually offer the best R5 C promotions or rebates during this period?

Honestly, the best way to save cash on the R5 C is stalking the Canon Refurbished store. Their loyalty program or seasonal sales often cut prices deeper than the big retailers do on brand new units. Since the R5 C is such a power hog, you really gotta factor in the extras or the body-only discount wont matter much. Few things i would keep an eye on:

Re: "Honestly, the best way to save cash on..."

  • Richard is totally right about that refurbished store being the play, but honestly, my journey with this camera has been pretty frustrating. I jumped on a deal last year thinking it was the ultimate hybrid, but unfortunately, the reliability just hasnt been as good as expected. I have had issues with it glitching out during long recordings and the power draw is just insane... it basically chewed through my savings just trying to keep the thing powered for a full day of shooting. Tbh, its not the bulletproof workhorse I thought I was buying. Before you commit to the upgrade though, what is the longest continuous clip you are usually filming? Also, are you mostly shooting in controlled studio settings or are you gonna be out in the elements where external power rigs might be a massive pain?
