I just picked up the Mini 4 Pro and I’m wondering which accessories are actually essential. I'm considering some ND filters for cinematic shots and maybe a hard carrying case for travel. Is the Fly More kit enough, or should I look into landing gear extensions too? What are your absolute must-haves for a better flight experience?

Yo, congrats on the new drone!! Honestly, I'd skip those landing gear extensions cuz they can mess with the obstacle sensors and motor efficiency, you know? For safety, I'd definitely grab a PGYTECH Drone Landing Pad Pro 50cm instead. Also, make sure ur using a high-spec card like the SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB microSDXC UHS-I V30 to handle the 4K bitrate without errors. Safety first tho! Peace

> I just picked up the Mini 4 Pro and I’m wondering which accessories are actually essential. Oh man, I've been flying for years and I'm LOVING this drone!! It's such a fantastic piece of tech. Honestly, here's my take on what you actually need based on my experience: - ND Filters: DJI Mini 4 Pro ND Filters Set (ND16/64/256) vs Freewell DJI Mini 4 Pro All Day - 6Pack ND Filters. Ngl you gotta go for the Freewell pack. It's way more versatile and those cinematic shots look amazing with proper motion blur!!
- Storage: Dont skimp here. Grab a SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-I V30 U3 A2 Card cuz 4K footage eats space fast.
- Landing gear: Honestly? Skip it. It just adds weight and messes with the balance lol. For your situation, the DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo Plus is definitely enough to start, but those filters are LITERALLY a must-have for pro video. Good luck and have fun flying!! peace

I’m still pretty new to this, but I’ve been obsessed with testing the actual flight limits lately! Ngl I was terrified the first time it got windy, but I noticed something interesting. When I switched to the DJI Mini 4 Pro Intelligent Flight Battery Plus, the extra weight actually felt like it helped the drone stay way more stable in those 15-20mph gusts compared to the lighter standard battery. It just felt less "twitchy" iirc. Quick tip: Honestly, the best thing for my "performance" was getting a STARTRC RC 2 Controller Lanyard. Being able to fully relax my grip let me focus way more on smooth stick movements during testing. I'm curious though, for those who do more range tests, does the extra weight of the Plus battery actually hurt the agility much? Still trying to figure out the sweet spot for performance!

I'm still pretty new to the hobby, but I've been looking at things from a DIY perspective so I don't have to send it off for every tiny scratch or speck of dust. Like, one thing I’m so glad I did was install a screen protector on the RC 2 myself. I went with the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Screen Protector and it was super easy to do, even for a beginner like me. Also, I think a basic cleaning kit is a total must-have for self-service. I got the K&F Concept Lens Cleaning Pen and a blower for like 15 dollars. It really helps keep the gimbal and lens clean without needing a pro to look at it. I mean, it's way cheaper than paying for a professional cleaning later on! Are you planning on doing your own basic maintenance or just relying on the DJI Care program? I’m still a bit scared of the bigger repairs, but these small DIY additions definitely make the flight experience feel more 'mine', if that makes sense...

Just catching up on this thread and honestly, while the filters and batteries are huge, I actually have a different take on the carrying situation. I totally disagree with the idea that the standard Fly More bag is enough if youre serious about performance and quick deployment. It is way too cramped and slows you down when youre trying to catch the light. For a better workflow, I usually compare these two options:

  • Lykus Titan MA210 Waterproof Hard Case for DJI Mini 4 Pro: This thing is a tank. I use it for travel because it is basically indestructible. Pros: Maximum protection and you dont even have to take the sticks off the RC 2. Cons: It is bulky for hiking.
  • PGYTECH OneMo 2 Backpack 25L: This is my go-to for field performance. Pros: It has that side access door so I can have the drone out and powered up in like 30 seconds. It fits everything including the charging hub and a laptop. Cons: It is definitely an investment. If you want to actually enjoy the flight experience without fumbling with a tiny bag, getting a proper case or tech bag is a game changer imo. The stock bag just doesnt cut it for me anymore.

Seconding the recommendation above about the landing gear... honestly they're a safety hazard for the sensors imo. Mini 4 Pro works well without 'em! Quick questions tho: what's ur typical flight environment like? Are you flying in tight urban spots or open nature? And what's your priority: portability or max protection? TL;DR: Safety first, skip extensions. Tell us more about where you'll be flying!

Basically agreeing with the point about the screen protector - definately a life saver for the RC 2 since that screen is a fingerprint magnet! But I kinda disagree that the Fly More kit is all you need for the long-term ownership side of things. After a few months of flying, I've realized a couple technical bits that people forget: - Power delivery is everything. The charging hub is super slow unless you have a high-wattage wall brick. If your trying to fly all day, you realy need to check the PD specs on your charger so you aren't waiting 4 hours for a full set!!!
- Battery health management. I'm always worried about the cycles on these things. Does anyone else notice the flight time dropping slightly after like 50 charges? Keeping them at a storage voltage is basically a part-time job lol, but honestly essential if you want them to last years.
- Insurance over gear. Honestly, the best 'accessory' is probably just the DJI Care Refresh or some kind of coverage. It lets you fly way more aggressively without the anxiety, you know?? Is everyone else seeing good battery life after 6 months???
