I just got a DJI Mini 4 Pro for my vacation to the Grand Canyon next month but I have zero idea what I am doing. Everything is still in the box because I am scared of breaking it or forgetting something important. What are the absolute must-have accessories for a total beginner like me?
Regarding what #1 said about "Honestly, you are gonna have a blast at...", unfortunately, I found that harsh desert light ruined my early footage without proper glass. TL;DR: Get ND/PL filters. I tested the DJI Mini 4 Pro ND Filters Set (ND16/64/256) but it lacks polarization. The Freewell DJI Mini 4 Pro Bright Day 6-Pack ND/PL Filters is far superior for managing canyon glare compared to the budget Skyreat Mini 4 Pro ND Filters Set which showed disappointing color shifts.
Unfortunately, I found the stock bag layout pretty bad. Had issues with props bending. Grab a STARTRC Mini 4 Pro Propeller Holder for safety. Check the UAV Forecast app for canyon winds.
Honestly, you are gonna have a blast at the Grand Canyon. I have been flying for years and I am super satisfied with how the DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo with RC 2 works out of the box. Extra batteries are a total lifesaver because you really dont want to be stuck waiting for a charge while the sun is setting over the rim. The one thing that made me happy with my footage was a set of filters. I use the DJI Mini 4 Pro ND Filter Set ND16/64/256 and they work well for that intense desert light. Also, grab a reliable card like the SanDisk Extreme 256GB microSDXC V30 so you dont run out of space mid-flight. I have no complaints with that setup at all. Just practice in a local park before you go... you will do great!
Grab a SanDisk Extreme 128GB microSDXC V30 to handle the 150Mbps bitrate. Also, a PGYTECH Landing Pad Pro is basically essential for keeping canyon dust out of your motors tho...
