Looking for the best Fujifilm X-mount camera specifically for wildlife. Considering telephoto lens compatibility and image stabilization. Budget is around $3000. Which model provides the best combination of these features?

Honestly, when I was building my current setup for wildlife, I had to be really precise about where the money went to stay under that same budget. I learned that sensor readout speed is the biggest technical bottleneck when you're dealing with fast-moving subjects and electronic shutters. The one I got uses a stacked architecture which basically solves the rolling shutter distortion I used to get on my older gear. If you're looking at value, here are a few technical things I prioritized:

  • Buffer depth to ensure the sequence doesnt stop mid-action
  • EVF refresh rates to minimize lag while tracking
  • Real-world battery life when using high-performance boost modes
  • Dual slot redundancy for professional data integrity Tbh, I found that the latest autofocus algorithms for subject detection are worth every penny, but you have to budget for high-speed media cards too. I spent a chunk of my budget on the fastest cards available because a slow write speed will throttle even the best buffer. It’s all about balancing the data throughput of the processor against the physical write speed of the storage...

I use an X-T4 with a telephoto. Works for me. Image stabilization is decent. Is that good enough?
