So I just picked up an X-T5 for a wedding I'm shooting next month and I'm super hyped to get into the Fuji system properly! I've been looking at the Godox V1 since everyone raves about it but then I read some weird stuff about the hot shoe pins not lining up right on Fuji bodies which makes me nervous. I also saw the EF-X500 but its so expensive for how old it is.
Heres what I'm looking for:
What are you guys actually using that doesnt break the bank?...
Ngl the hot shoe thing is terrifying. I’ve had issues with pins not firing. Unfortunately, just try the Godox TT685II-F TTL Flash and keep an eraser handy for the contacts...
Regarding what #1 said about "Congrats on the X-T5! Ngl, the Godox hot..."
Unfortunately native Fuji gear is pricey. I tried the Nissin i60A Air TTL Flash for Fujifilm but the recycle time was way too slow for my taste, even tho the portability is nice.
Congrats on the X-T5! Ngl, the Godox hot shoe rumors are a bit scary but i have used the Godox V860III-F TTL Li-Ion Flash for years without issues. It hits your budget perfectly and the recycle time is insanely fast for wedding candids. Just be careful when sliding it on tho... fuji pins are tiny so make sure it clicks in fully before you tighten it down.
