I recently picked up a Lumix S5II and I’m eager to use my Leica M-mount glass on it. I’ve seen everything from the pricey official Leica adapter to budget options like Urth and Shoten. I'm mainly worried about light leaks or loose fitment. Which adapter provides the most secure, wobble-free connection for a reasonable price?
In my experience, you dont need to overspend for a secure flange connection. I'm very satisfied with these:
- Urth M to L Mount Lens Adapter ($40)
- Shoten M-L Adapter ($65)
Both offer a precise, wobble-free fit with zero light leaks on my S5II. basically works perfectly for a fraction of the cost without risking ur glass. gl!
Before I give advice, are you using heavy glass or small primes? Basically, loose tolerances on cheap adapters can cause light leaks or mount wear. If you want safety, I think the Novoflex Adapter for Leica M Lens to L-Mount Camera ($200) is actually the gold standard for a tight fit compared to the 7Artisans M-L Mount Adapter ($35), which can feel a bit 'sloppy' with heavy lenses tho!! Thoughts??
tbh it depends on your lenses. what's your budget? also are you using heavy glass that might stress the mount? that usually determines if you need the high-end brass stuff.
