I’m looking for a solid L-mount to M-mount adapter for my Lumix S5II. I’ve noticed some cheaper ones have slight play, which is worrying for my heavier Voigtländer glass. Is the Leica M-Adapter-L worth the premium, or does the Novoflex offer better tolerances? Which one provides the most secure, wobble-free fit?

In my experience, the Leica M-Adapter-L is actually the way to go for zero play. It is ROCK solid!! If you wanna save a bit but still get pro build quality, the Novoflex Adapter for Leica M Lens to L-Mount is also fantastic. - Precision fit
- Zero wobble Ngl, cheap adapters basically dont cut it... especially for heavy Voigtländer glass. Gl!

For your situation, the 7Artisans Leica M to L-mount Adapter has surprisingly tight tolerances! It’s SUPER solid for heavy glass without the premium price. Best value pick for the S5II if you hate wobble!!

For your situation, i'd suggest the Rayqual Leica M to L-Mount Adapter. i've been super happy with it for my heavy glass. it's basically a tank!!! - High-precision fit with zero play.
- Japanese engineering is seriously next level...
- Solid brass construction, i think? honestly, it works well and i've had no complaints after years of use. definitely worth it for peace of mind, you know? gl!!

> I’ve noticed some cheaper ones have slight play, which is worrying for my heavier Voigtländer glass. ^ This. Also, I unfortunately found that the 7Artisans Leica M to L-mount Adapter wasn't as good as expected. While it's a popular budget choice, the internal springs in mine lost tension pretty quickly with heavier glass. It's honestly quite disappointing when you're trying to focus and feel that tiny bit of movement. If you want something better than the budget stuff but cheaper than Leica, I'd go with the Voigtlander VM-L Mount Adapter II. Since you're using their glass anyway, the fit is usually much more precise and methodical. Quick tip for build quality:

  • Look for brass mount rings since they resist wear much better than aluminum.
  • Test for rotational play specifically, as that's where cheaper adapters fail first.
