I've been shooting with my Lumix G9 for a few months now, and while the kit lens is decent, I’m really itching to step up my game with some high-quality prime lenses. I mainly focus on street photography and portraits, so I’m looking for something with a fast aperture like f/1.7 or f/1.4 to get that creamy bokeh and better low-light performance. I’ve been eyeing the 25mm f/1.7 because it’s such a bargain, but I'm also curious if the Leica 15mm is worth the extra investment for a wider field of view. Does anyone have recommendations for primes that offer the best bang for your buck? What are your absolute 'must-have' prime lenses for the Micro Four Thirds system?

- Panasonic Lumix G 25mm f/1.7 ASPH.: decent cheap pick.
- Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 15mm f/1.7 ASPH.: worth it for street maybe? its better glass tbh lol

I'd actually suggest a different approach before you drop big money on the Leica. Late to the party but i’ve found that Sigma actually wins on the value front for the G9. • Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary for Micro Four Thirds (~$300): I know the 25mm was mentioned, but the Sigma is way sharper and the f/1.4 bokeh is sooo much creamier. • Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary for Micro Four Thirds (~$370): Its a bit heavier than the 15mm, but for street photography, the extra light you get is actually insane. • Panasonic Lumix G 42.5mm f/1.7 ASPH. Power O.I.S. (~$350): If you want real portraits, this is the one. Its got OIS which helps a lot. Basically, I think Sigma is the way to go if you want pro results without the Leica tax... but idk, depends on ur needs. gl!
