Hey everyone! So, I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on a Nikon D850. Been saving up! Anyone spotted any killer deals lately? I'm mostly interested in new bodies, but I'd consider a mint condition used one from a reputable seller. Also, are there any Nikon rebates or promotions running right now that I should know about? Where are you seeing the best prices currently?

Yeah, I definitely agree that going the used or demo route is the way to save some serious cash, but honestly, I’m always kinda scared of getting a broken camera if I buy from a random person. Since the Nikon D850 is still a pretty big investment, I'd personally look at places that offer at least a little bit of a safety net for your budget: * **Nikon Direct Refurbished:** This is basically like new but way cheaper, and you know it was actually checked by their own techs before being sold again.
* **KEH or MPB:** I’ve looked here a lot and they give you a 6-month warranty. It’s worth paying a tiny bit more than a private sale just for the peace of mind, right?
* **Adorama or B&H Used:** They have really strict rating systems so you won't get any nasty surprises when you open the box.\n
Is it worth it to risk a private sale just to save a few extra bucks? I dunno, I'm always too worried about the shutter count or hidden water damage... basically, I'd stick to the pros for something this expensive!

Hey there! So, you're looking at a D850, awesome choice! I've been shooting with one for about 5 years now, and honestly, it's still amazing. I remember when I was hunting for mine, it was a PAIN to find a good deal.

Instead of focusing *solely* on new bodies (which hold their value like crazy!), I'd suggest broadening your search to include *local* camera stores. Seriously! I got mine from a small shop that was going out of business. They had a 'like new' demo model with barely any shutter count, and the price was way lower than anything I saw online. They even threw in an extra battery! You might be surprised at what you find! Also, check Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist but be CAREFUL and meet in a public place to inspect.

As for rebates, keep an eye on Nikon's website, of course, but honestly, I haven't seen any major rebates on the D850 itself lately. Good luck with the hunt! Let me know what you find!

Hey! Congrats on deciding to grab a D850! While everyone's hunting for the lowest price *on* a D850, have you considered *why* you need it? Seriously. The Z7 or Z7 II might actually be a better deal *for you* even if the D850 is slightly cheaper at first glance.

For example, if you're gonna be adapting a lot of older manual focus lenses, the Z series focus peaking is a godsend. Plus, the IBIS (in-body image stabilization) is a game changer for handheld shooting. The D850 is a beast, don't get me wrong. But if you're doing video, the Z's are way better. Just something to think about before you commit! I'd compare specs super closely. The price difference might be worth it depending on your priorities!
