What is the best gimbal for the Nikon D850 that is suitable for travel and lightweight? I’m looking for something that can effectively stabilize my shots without adding too much bulk to my gear. Any recommendations on specific models or brands that are known for their portability and performance with the D850 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!
Try the DJI RS 4. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=DJI+Stabilizer+Mirrorless+Panasonic+Fujifilm&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50
Just saw this thread. Regarding what #5 said about "DJI RS 4 Pro." - it is definitely the top tier choice for performance, but the price tag is pretty steep if youre trying to keep costs down. In my experience, the D850 is a tricky camera for travel because of its physical size and weight distribution compared to newer mirrorless bodies. Most of the guys here are pushing the latest DJI tech which is fine, but honestly, the DJI RS 3 Mini mentioned earlier might actually be underpowered if you use a heavy lens like the 24-70mm f/2.8. If you want a more budget-friendly DIY approach, I suggest looking for a used DJI RS 2 or a Zhiyun Crane 2S. You can often find those second-hand for half the price of a new RS 4. Ive found that older gimbals still have the motor torque needed for a beefy DSLR like the D850. You might lose some of the fancy auto-locking features, but the stabilization is virtually identical if you balance it properly yourself. Ngl, sometimes those Pro features are just marketing fluff for stuff you can do manually with a bit of practice... saving that extra 300 bucks is worth the extra five minutes of setup time imo.
