Got a Z6 II for my cousins June wedding in Seattle and im stressed. I read CFexpress is a must but they're $200 and i dont know if SD cards work? Or if the battery grip is overkill? My logic was save money but I dont wanna run out of power mid-ceremony...
The Z6 II is an absolute beast! You dont need to blow your budget on CFexpress because the SD slot supports UHS-II speeds perfectly. Grab a SanDisk Extreme PRO 128GB SDXC UHS-II V90 for reliable backup. Skip the bulky grip and just carry two spare Nikon EN-EL15c Rechargeable Li-ion Battery units in your pocket. Much better for your wrists during a long shoot!
Regarding what #1 said about the Nikon Z6... those V90 cards are pricey overkill for a wedding. In my experience, a Lexar Professional 1667x 128GB SDXC UHS-II V60 is plenty fast and cuts costs in half. Also, if youre worried about power, grab a SmallRig EN-EL15c USB-C Rechargeable Camera Battery. Theyre cheaper and you can charge em with a power bank. Simple.
Regarding what #1 said about the Nikon Z6 II being an absolute beast, he is spot on, but be careful with that Seattle mist. I shot a damp ceremony last year and learned that weather sealing has its limits.
