Hi everyone! I've been shooting with my Nikon D750 for a while now using the kit lens, but I really want to get into serious portrait photography. I’m looking for that beautiful creamy bokeh and sharp subjects. I've been torn between the classic 85mm f/1.8G and the 50mm f/1.4G. Since I have a full-frame sensor, I’m wondering which one provides the best compression and skin tones for headshots. My budget is around $600, so I’m looking for the best bang for my buck. Does anyone have experience with these or maybe a Sigma Art equivalent? Which specific prime lens would you recommend as the 'must-have' for Nikon portraits?

So, I went through this struggle last year. - Background: Perspective distortion dictates how facial features look.
- Why it matters: My 50mm made noses look huge... totally ruined some shoots for me.
- My journey: I eventually got the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G. Its reliable for the price, tho my used copy had focus issues. I had to be really careful checking it!
