What are the best free tools for tracking Amazon price history and getting drop alerts these days because it feels like everything is going behind a paywall? I have been using Keepa for years, mostly for checking the price graph on the product page via the browser extension, but I noticed recently that a lot of the features I used to rely on are now locked behind a subscription. I think they started charging for the sales rank data and some of the more granular notification settings which is a bummer.
I am trying to kit out my home office here in Chicago with some higher-end gear like a 4K monitor and maybe a new mechanical keyboard, but my budget is pretty tight this month so I really need to catch a genuine sale. I know about CamelCamelCamel too but their interface feels a bit dated and sometimes the alerts are delayed by a few hours which means the stock is already gone by the time I click.
Are there any newer open-source options or maybe some lightweight scripts that people are using now? I just want something that wont break the bank but still gives me that sweet data visualization so I know I am not overpaying. Is there anything that integrates better with mobile too? Tracking stuff on the go is getting harder with all these cookie popups and login requirements...
^ This. Also, in my experience:
Keepa definitely feels like a money sink lately. For your setup, just get any monitor from Dell and you will be set, they are solid. Be careful with those fake sales tho... make sure to verify the history first. I usually just throw my links into PriceDropCatch and wait for the alert before I actually pull the trigger. It is way easier than checking manually every day.
